Black★Rock Shooter is a pale-skinned, blue-eyed girl, with black hair in uneven twintails (possibly, because one tail was burned); the right lock of her hair is shorter than her left. She bears two scars on her midriff; she wields an arm cannon and a katana. A blue flame shoots out from her left eye.
Her clothes consist of a string bikini top under a black jacket. The jacket has a white stripe running along the length of each of her sleeves and has a white star design on the front (left side) and back. She also wears a pair of tight-fitting shorts and black knee-high boots.






Dead Master is a girl with wavy black hair and straight bangs, and neon green eyes.
Her outfit is similar to a simple Gothic lolita costume. She wears a black dress and a black bolero; her dress extends down to her thighs and is accented with a white ribbon attached to her waist. Dead Master also wears a pair of leggings and a pair of black pumps. She wears a pair of black gauntlets on each hand. On her head is a pair of long horns which resemble a pair of vertebrae with each tip made out of three tips joined at the end. Dead Master also has a pair of wings which sit low on her back, looking like a thick zigzag.
Her weapon of choice is a large scythe with an unusually-shaped blade and a long handle with vertebra-like detail.
Most of the time she is accompanied by two skulls, each with glowing eyes, nose and mouth.
Dead Master also has a 'human form' as shown in the pilot animation. She has green eyes and wavy dark hair similar to Dead Master's

Dragon Slayer (ドラゴン退治) is a girl with gold to yellow pupils and long black hair. Like Maid Gunner, she doesn't possess a flame in her eyes as the primary protagonists.
Her attire consists of a lace top under a bolero jacket, the former having a white strap crossed together as detail. She also wears a torn skirt which reveals part of what seems like a lace petticoat. She wears a pair of gauntlets on her arms and on her waist, a belt is attached.
Dragon Slayer's weapon is a twin-bladed two handed sword with a small cross-guard.
Her appearance in the OVA is yet to be confirmed.






Black★Gold Saw is a girl with red eyes and long black hair. A red flame shoots out from her right eye. She has a pair of curved black horns whose color turns to red as it reaches the tip. Like Dead Master, Black★Gold Saw also has skeletal claws. Black★Gold Saw is most likely an enemy, as she fights Black★Rock Shooter at one point. Her outfit is similar to Black★Rock Shooter except  for the design of her  jacket and her bikini top;                                                                                                      her jacket extends into a worn-out cape which is dyed red at the end.
Her weapon of choice is a large black sword with a a long handle and a curved hilt shaped like a pointing-down crescent.

Black★Matagi(ブラック★マタギ) is a girl with short black hair and purple eyes. A purple-colored flame shoots from her left eye. Of the 4 original protagonists featured in Anomaro-P's video of the song Black★Rock Shooter, Black★Matagi is the only one with a more different outfit. She wears an outfit similar to a sailor uniform, with a white collar, long sleeves, a short pleated skirt and a predominant black color scheme. She appears to wear a blouse with thin shoulder straps under her outfit. Black★Matagi also wears a pair of knee-high boots. Her accessories are a pair of headphones and a white armband with a black pentagram design.
Her weapon is a gunblade, a large artillery weapon with an even larger blade attached to its end. Its overall length can rival Black★Matagi's height.
